About Dr. Amin

As a patient, you will be placing your trust and confidence in me, and my ability to both listen to your concerns and treat your discomfort. Because of that, and because of my commitment to your wellbeing, you deserve to know who Amin Nekoomand is and why that trust is not only well placed but held sacred.

Born to loving parents in Persia/Iran, in 1998, at the age of seventeen, my mother and father longed for a new life for their son and immigrated to the United States. We, like so many others, sought promises of freedom and opportunity. Our travels brought us to Coralville, and I spent a childhood filled with curiosity, and a desire to take full advantage of the American dream. I graduated from Iowa City West High School and studied at the University of Iowa where I remained until 2004. It was there, and with the help of professors and academic counselors, that I began to learn of a profession to which I found myself drawn. That was the field of Chiropractic. The discipline was new to me, but captured my interest so quickly, and to such an extent, that I researched every aspect of the occupation and knew it was calling me with a voice I could not ignore. Yet, there was a personal attraction to Chiropractic. My mother had lived with chronic pain for many years without finding relief of any sort. My wish was to alleviate her suffering as well as the suffering of people like her.

In 2008, having been named to the Dean’s List, achieved the Clinical Teaching Assistant Award, in addition to a Student Council Award, I graduated from Palmer School of Chiropractic. Graduation was not an end to my education, however, as I continuously seek ongoing training to hone and upgrade my skills in the desire to better serve my patients. I am involved in research and was a member of the Howard Hughes student research team at the Carver School of Medicine in Iowa City.

Always intimately involved in my chosen profession, I am also an active member of my community. Giving back to the people who have helped guide and direct me along my path goes hand in hand with my commitment to provide first rate service.

Yet, there is another part of my life that takes center stage. Not only am I an experienced and respected Chiropractor, I am also a husband and father. My loving wife, Mimi, and my two beautiful children, Caleb and Calla, are sources of joy and inspiration. They are my foundation, and remind me each and every day, that dedication to my family and my profession are my highest callings.
